SUMMARY OF AMENDMENT TO THE DISTRICT CODE PENDING BEFORE THE

SIERRA LAKES COUNTY WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Sierra Lakes County Water District Board of Directors will meet at 6:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2020, to consider adoption of amendments to the District Code.  Board Members and the public will participate in this meeting via teleconference or otherwise electronically. This meeting is compliant with the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 which allows for a deviation of teleconference rules required by the Brown Act. In-person attendance by the public at the District Office will not be permitted. Written comments can be submitted to anickerson@slcwd.org.  An agenda with teleconference participation information will be posted on the website by 6:00 pm Tuesday May 5, 2020.  A summary of the amendments to the District Code is as follows:

  1. 1. Chapter 1, Division IV - Billing and Collection, and
  2. 2. Chapter 1, Division V – Discontinuance of Water and Sewer Service to read as attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference, containing revisions necessary to conform the District Code to the requirements established by SB 998 (2018) concerning the process for discontinuation of residential water service by the District due to non-payment.  

The proposed amendments outline in Ordinance 20.01 are available for review at the following web site www.slcwd.org. A certified copy of the full text of the proposed amendments has been posted at the District office located at 7305 Short Road.
